FAQ

What is Fixture LookUp?

Fixture LookUp is an app for lighting technicians, operators and designers. It shows the DMX channel layout, every mode and the specs of 26,636 fixtures from 901 manufacturers, plus console export, a patch list and a gel book.

It is developed by Flight Event | Entertainment Production in Bubenreuth near Erlangen, Germany, out of day-to-day lighting design and technical direction.

Does it work offline?

Yes. You can download the whole fixture database to your device in Settings. After that, search, DMX charts, patch list and gel book work in venues without signal.

Which consoles can I export fixtures for?

grandMA2 and grandMA3, ChamSys MagicQ, Avolites, ETC Eos and Hog 4. Exports are GDTF, a PDF channel list or CSV, so you can help yourself when a fixture is missing from your desk library.

How much does it cost?

The app is free, and so are the power calculator, DMX DIP switch and IP calculator. Fixture LookUp Pro costs €49.99 per year and unlocks the fixture database, channel search, console export, patch list, gel book and your own fixtures. There is no free trial. Cancel any time in your Apple ID settings, effective at the end of the term.

Where does the fixture data come from?

From the Open Fixture Library, the QLC+ fixture library, manufacturer data and our own research. Every record runs through automatic plausibility checks (channel counts, modes, physical values). New fixtures and corrections ship with app updates.

A fixture is missing. What now?

Create it yourself in the app or adapt an existing one and share it via AirDrop. Send us missing fixtures by email and we will add them to the database.

What data does the app collect?

None. There is no account on our servers, no ads and no tracking. Profile, favourites, patch lists and your own fixtures stay on your device. See the privacy policy for details.

Is there an Android version?

An Android version is in the works. Right now the app runs on iPhone and iPad, with a split view of list and DMX chart on iPad.
